Welcome to LittleBird Acres

Welcome to LittleBird Acres – a work in progress where nature, sustainability, and rustic charm come together in a journey of renewal. Tucked into a corner of Upstate South Carolina, our farm is evolving through regenerative practices that will not only restore the land but also create a haven for eco-interested visitors. In our first year, we've tackled everything from fixing fences and clearing overgrown woods to installing an off-grid solar system and rebuilding our barn after Hurricane Helene. Every project—from removing pigweed and actual garbage to enhancing drainage and water systems—reflects our commitment to revitalizing the land while preparing it for new ventures.

We’re proud to offer a unique on-site RV rental and glamping experience, allowing you to experience the peaceful escape of farm life firsthand (available Spring 2025). And while our full commercial operations are set for the future, we’re excited to share the fruits of our labor today—starting with our very first egg sales in February 2025, and plans for innovative grazing practices with sheep, as well as dynamic sunflower fields designed for walking tours, photo opportunities, and u-pick experiences.

Join us as we document our progress on YouTube and invite you to experience the evolving magic of LittleBird Acres—a place where every little bird, every cleared bramble, and every new project contributes to a brighter, greener future for both the land and the people.

What we're not

At LittleBird Acres, we’re not selling a picture-perfect, Instagram-ready fantasy farm—what you see is raw, real, and a work in progress. It's not pretty (yet). We're filthy dirty every day. There are still a lot of rusty wire and buried diaper mountains to unearth and get rid of. We still have 12-foot piles of debris from Hurricane Helene to take care of. Sometimes there's fire. Sometimes we bleed. Sometimes we fight to keep predators away from our animals. Sometimes we're too late. Sometimes we have to walk 400 yards through the woods back to the barn for tools to take apart the blade from the DR mower because sneaky buried barbed wire gets tangle up in it, then put it back together to get the mower back to the barn.

I've definitely never gathered eggs in a linen dress and we don't have a chandelier in the chicken coop.

We've made mistakes, like that time last winter when I was clearing brush and I put my hands all over this interesting, viney, snake-like root that was growing up the side of a tree and it turns out it was winter poison ivy. Hey, we're from Florida and have never see what poison ivy looks like in the winter. And it turns out that I'm part of the 10-15% of people who are extremely allergic to poison ivy.

But it's part of the process of learning how to BE on a piece of the Earth and live with it, not on it. Learning what the land needs. Learning how to be quiet in a place and listen to what it is trying to tell us. Every Band-aid and setback is part of our journey toward understanding what this land needs and how to care for it, day by messy day. We're here for it and we hope you will be, too!

what's in the works

about us

LittleBird Acres was originally the vision of two Florida dreamer nerds who have been farm-adjacent at various parts of their lives.

Tony is a mechanical engineer and FAA-Part 107-certified drone pilot who runs FiveMedia Real Estate Photography in Upstate South Carolina. He grew up playing with motors and machines and building catapults out of legos. Dawn is a writer who grew up on Ralph Moody books.

They've been married a long time and enjoy witnessing the progress and growth of their five grown kids. They're pretty durned happy.
